At what age can I start using Camilia® Oral Solution on my baby?
Camilia® is suitable for use by babies aged 1 month up to 2 years and children aged 2 years up to 6 years.
How many single-dose containers can I give to my baby?
The usual dose is the contents of 1 single-dose container, 2 to 3 times a day. Do not use this medicine for more than 3 days. If symptoms worsen or persist for more than 3 days, or if side effects are experienced, a doctor, pharmacist, or qualified healthcare practitioner should be consulted.
Do I have to rub Camilia® Oral Solution on my baby’s gums?
Camilia® is an oral solution presented in single-dose containers of 1ml each. After sitting the child down, the contents of a single-dose container should be poured by squeezing the contents gently into the child’s mouth. There is no need to rub Camilia® on your baby’s gum as the child swallows the solution.
Can I use Camilia® Oral Solution if my baby is lactose intolerant?
Camilia® contains no lactose and can be used on babies that have a lactose intolerance. Apart from the three active substances – Chamomilla vulgaris 9c, Phytolacca decandra 5c and Rheum 5c, the only other ingredient is purified water. Camilia® is free from sugar, alcohol and preservatives.
Can I use both Camilia® Oral Solution and another medicine?
No interactions with other medicines are known. However before using this product you should tell your doctor or pharmacist if your baby is already taking or has recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
My Baby Has A Blue Bump On His Gums. What Is It?
This is fairly common and it is known as an eruption cyst or eruption hematoma. When your baby’s teeth are done forming, they first move through the bone, then through the gums until they finally make it into the mouth. An eruption cyst occurs when the tooth is just under the surface of the gums. The bump will diminish as the tooth cuts through the gums. (For more on tooth eruption, see the baby teething chart).
I’m Unfamiliar With The Active Ingredients Listed On The Package. What are they?
Active ingredients in homeopathic medicines are listed on product labels in Latin, which is the international packaging standard. Camilia® contains three active ingredients: Chamomilla 9C (dilution of German Chamomile plant), Phytolacca decandra 5C (dilution of Poke plant), and Rheum officinale 5C (dilution of Rhubarb plant).
On the labels, 5C and 9C indicate the homeopathic dilution. “C,” for centesimal scale, means that each dilution is 100 times more diluted than the previous one. The number, 5 or 9, indicates how many times the substance has been diluted using this process. For instance, 5C is 100 times more diluted than 4C.
Homeopathic medicines are a good first choice for self-treatment under the conditions described in the leaflet.
